Corinth was a city that had everything - trade, business, pleasure seeking, all kinds of religions - anything and everything someone could want. By God's grace, Paul saw a church planted in this city, and though God had called out a people from Corinth, it was taking a while for Corinth to be called out of this people. Corinth seemed to be having more of an impact on them than they were having on Corinth. The city was rubbing off on them, and they had a lot of issues that Paul needed to address and correct. As we go through this letter from Paul, we want to take a look at ourselves because we, like the Corinthian church, will always be tempted to look more like the culture around us than Jesus. And so, our theme question that will carry us many months is this: Is The Chapel having more of an impact on Baton Rouge, or is Baton Rouge having more of an impact on The Chapel?
