FAITHMAP: Equipping Parents to Lead Children to Christ

Through this four week class, parents and grandparents will be introduced to the basics of the FAITHMAP strategy and prepared to nurture faith in the next generation. Using teaching, resources and ideas, facilitators will show families how to develop a clear plan for helping their children establish a lifelong pattern of following Jesus.

Classes are February 11, 18, 25 and March 4.

The birth of a child is a joyous event. Family and friends gather to bring gifts and personal opinions about whom the baby looks like and what the child will become. For Christian parents, birth is also a sacred event, one that reminds them children are a gift from the Lord (Psalm 127:3). It also calls them to personal responsibility for teaching their child biblical principles and training him or her to honor, obey and serve God.

The Chapel believes God designed the family as the primary disciple-making relationship. In other words, God gives parents the privilege of nurturing faith in the next generation. For this reason, we encourage parents to commit themselves to this God-ordained role through Parent/Child Dedication, a time during a Sunday morning service when the church family agrees to stand with the parents in fulfilling this role.

A Parent/Child Dedication class, which is required prior to participating in the Parent/Child Dedication service, will equip parents to be intentional about nurturing faith in their child and prepare  them to foster spiritual disciplines in their child's faith journey. The Parent/Child Dedication class will be held two weeks prior to the dedication.

A Rite of Passage is a special event signifying a transition from one stage to another. This is an ideal time to affirm and help your child anticipate and prepare to accept God's plan for the future, to challenge your teen to leave behind the world of childhood and invite them into the ranks of emerging adulthood. At Rite Night we will give you the resources you need to plan and celebrate a Rite of Passage with your child. This event is for the 10th grade students and their parents and/or guardian only.
Date TBA.

Families are under tremendous pressure.

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”  Matthew 11:28-30
