parent child dedication class

The birth of a child is a joyous event. Family and friends gather to bring gifts and personal opinions about whom the baby looks like and what the child will become. For Christian parents, birth is also a sacred event, one that reminds them children are a gift from the Lord (Psalm 127:3). It also calls them to personal responsibility for teaching their child biblical principles and training him or her to honor, obey and serve God.

The Chapel believes God designed the family as the primary disciple-making relationship. In other words, God gives parents the privilege of nurturing faith in the next generation. For this reason, we encourage parents to commit themselves to this God-ordained role through Parent/Child Dedication, a time during a Sunday morning service when the church family agrees to stand with the parents in fulfilling this role.

A Parent/Child Dedication class, which is required prior to participating in the Parent/Child Dedication service, will equip parents to be intentional about nurturing faith in their child and prepare  them to foster spiritual disciplines in their child's faith journey. The Parent/Child Dedication class will be held two weeks prior to the dedication.

Parent/ Child Dedication Class:

OAKS - February 10th - 10:45am
CAMPUS - February 17th - 10:45am

Family Resources and Devotional Materials

See change in family life when you teach your children at home. Call the Family Life office at 387-1580, #2212 for suggested age appropriate materials to use with your child.

Check out the @HOME resources located in the brochure racks outside the Sanctuary at both the Oaks and the Campus.

The Faith Map strategy is intended to help you devote a clear plan to intentionally pointing your child toward Christ in an age appropriate manner. We trust that you are naturally exposing your child to many of these faith practices or preparing for certain markers at specific ages and stages. Each marker includes training, resources and ideas to help you guide your child along the way.

Visit the Faith Map page for Guides and resources for each marker.

Families are under tremendous pressure.

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”  Matthew 11:28-30
