Local Outreach

Our local outreach partnerships and opportunities are designed to help people meet, know and follow Jesus on the campus of LSU and in our city.  Our prayer is that by reaching out with love and compassion, people will begin to understand God's love, mercy and grace. We encourage everyone, whether as a family or in a community group, to contribute their time and resources through serving in local outreach.

Go Opportunities

This Fall The Chapel is offering three local "Go Opportunities," or local outreach opportunities to help people meet, know and follow Jesus in the city. As a family or a Community Group, we invite you to choose one (or multiple) opportunities to participate. As part of our Discipleship Pathway to gather, grow, serve and go, "Go Opportunities" provide a way for you to do just that both locally and globally.

Thank you to all who volunteered to make Fall Fest 2019 a HUGE success!!

Every year our LSU location opens the Sanctuary to welcome people from all over the world. It is expected nearly 400 people from 50 different countries will attend, getting to know each other, sharing a meal, enjoying entertainment, and learning about Jesus. We need 100 volunteers to welcome and serve all of our guests! For many, this is the first step to meet, know and follow Jesus!

The deadline to register as a table host is Sunday, November 3rd!

Visit the International Thanksgiving Banquet Event Page for more information and volunteer registration!

On Friday, December 13th, 1:15-2:30pm, The Chapel is throwing a Rockin' Reindeer Christmas party at Wildwood Elementary School for students, teachers and faculty! We'll decorate the school and provide games, crafts and snacks.

Visit the Volunteer Registration Page for more information on available opportunitiesEmail   if you have any questions.

Ongoing Opportunities

We also offer ongoing opportunities for you to be a part of local outreach efforts. We are currently partnering with Wildwood Elementary School in various ways, including Kids Hope USA. Find out more about each opportunity below.

Kids Hope USA connects one adult from The Chapel with one "at risk" child at Wildwood, creating a connection for that adult mentor to meet weekly with that student sharing love, encouragement, help with class work, fun games and much more (whatever the individual needs of that child are). Hope Center Monitors serve in the Hope Center, allowing mentors time to meet with their Kids Hope child. Or, pray for mentors and children as a Kids Hope USA Prayer Partner. Visit our page.
